Match Funding – what exactly is it? Quite simply, match funding can be money your group has raised from events (raffles, quiz evenings, etc.), grants from other sources, volunteer work (costed at market rates), your group’s own funds, grants from other local authorities (Government, County, Borough/District, Parish Councils). Anything someone has given you towards your project can be counted as match funding.
Only very rarely will a project receive 100% funding from the Community Initiatives Fund. We like to see some commitment from members of the community that will benefit from the project. Local fundraising or volunteer work, for example, will both count towards match funding for your project.
